Pinery LogoHere is the information that you have been waiting for.

Don’t forget to sign up here right away so that we know you are coming when we buy groceries.

When

FRIDAY – Meet at the church parking lot at 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 6, 2009 for departure shortly after that. (Eat Lunch before you come)

SUNDAY – We will be leaving the Pinery at about 12 Noon on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at about 12 noon and then stopping for quick lunch and the way through either Grand Bend or Exeter.  Returning to the church parking lot between 3:30 and 4:00 Sunday afternoon.

Youth may not leave the church until equipment is unloaded and put away.

Transportation

We are traveling  via one 15 Passenger van and one pickup truck with a trailer.  Scouts will travel in the van and the Venturers in the truck.  All gear will either be in the Truck or the trailer.  This is a little more expensive but the added value to the camp of having all the Scouts in one vehicle is great and the side benefit is environmental.

Meals

Your meals will be prepared by the youth in their Patrols and eaten at your Patrol’s campsite.  Meals will be simple but nourishing and warming.
We will eat out at a restaurant for  lunch on the way home on Sunday.

Accommodation

Each patrol will have sufficient 2 man tents and 1 dining shelter for their patrol.  The washrooms at the park are open and contain hot showers, flush toilets.
We will provide plenty of hand sanitizer and insist on its use.  Other procedures to minimize the risk of flu will be explained at the beginning of the camp.

Bikes

Bikes must fit properly and be in COMPLETE AND SAFE operating condition.  HELMETS are law and required.   Please ensure tires are pumped up and Helmets are properly fitted BEFORE arriving at the church.  Bike locks will also be required.

What to Bring?

This is a tough time of year to pack for.  My suggestion is to count on the cold as we can always peel off a layer if warranted.  Rain wear is critical and should be packed near the top.  Clothes that have been worn during the day cannot be worn to bed.

Here is a suggested packing List Packing List!

Information about cost is in an email you should have received.

Watch here next week for emergency contact information, travel routes, park location.
