Hello everyone. 
We are looking for help from all of our members.  We are planning to produce a new crest to identify our group on our uniforms.  This crest will replace the “2”, “4” and “Kitchener” that we currently wear.  Please follow the link below or go to to register your vote.  Each member may vote once.

BP Sunday Service of Celebration 2018

Hello everyone.

Welcome to Scout/Guide Week 2018 – A time to celebrate the insight of our founder – Lord Baden Powell.
We at the 24th Scouting Family are very excited to be hosting our Annual Scout Sunday Service on Sunday, Feb 25. It will be a time to celebrate Scouting and all that we have to be thankful for. We encourage every youth and leader and families to join in this service. 

Our theme is “What is in YOUR cup?”. This is about putting your whole self in so you can get your your best out.

$15.00 ($30.00 each but the Troop will pay half)

For those of you that don’t know what this is, it is a Virtual Reality studio and everyone will be able to experience it.

Allow 45 min – 1 hr travel time.
Where Everton Scout Camp. Greenwood Cabin. Drop off at Cub Camp Entrance(Barn). Pickup at Scout camp Entrance(Lower).Click here for Map (if you zoom in to the map you can see the camp entrances and cabin locations)
Transportation We will be carpooling from the church parking lot if we have enough drivers (If there are not enough drivers each Scout will be responsible for their own transportation. We will post the status of driver volunteers on the evening of Wednesday, Jan 24)

Accommodations Our cabin is heated with a propane stove.  We also have an adirondak (3-sided log shelter with steel roof and straw floor.) We encourage each youth to come prepared to sleep out in the Adirondak at least one night as this will complete several badge requirements. Toilets are of the outback ‘KYBO’ type.
Meals Eat at home before coming to camp on Friday night. A snack will be provided before leaving the camp on Sunday. Youth will share the cooking of meals. No food is to be brought to camp by any youth.
Medications Absolutely all medications must
-be in the original container.
-have explicit directions and boys’ name on the container.
-not be packed in the boys’ gear.
-be given directly to the LEADER by the PARENT on arrival at the church.

Troop Permit Camp Nov 3-5

Date: November 3 – 5, 2017.

Location: Camp Everton

Departure: Meet at SJRUC at 6:00pm

Return: Departing camp – Yet to be determined

Activities:  Troop members earn all four permits;

  • knife,
  • stove & lantern,
  • match & fire and
  • axe & saw.  

Build your knowledge of these tools and the skills to use them as well! Sessions with small groups of people and multiple trainers will be run for each permit. Sessions on basic pioneering knots and lashings will also be offered. Campfire Saturday night.

We will require drivers for the trip to camp and the trip home.

Cost: $55.00 payment due on or before Thursday, Nov. 2 (Shopping Night)

Scouts have planned this camp (menu, location etc)

Year End Party 2017

There will be great activities for the kids:

  • Rock Climbing Wall with safety plus!  (auto belay hydraulic system that secures climbers and trained operators who work with climbers in doing the best that they can do.) There are 3 climbing stations which present easy, medium and difficult terrains.  Scouting Youth can count this activity towards their Vertical Skills 2 badge.
  • Big Bouncy with large interior jumping area and more.  Screens allow spectators to watch the fun.
  • Smaller Bouncy for  little ones.
  • Lawn games and bubbles for all ages.
  • Plus a  BBQ and Advancement Ceremonies (where sections send off youth moving up to next sections)
  • best of all! – great food!

Time:   3:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Place:  St. James’-Rosemount United Church on the Labyrinth

Who:   24th Kitchener Scouting families – including siblings not in scouting

Cost:   $5 per person, $20 max per family

June Year-end Camp 2017

 Drop off:  Laurel Creek Group Campsite between 6 pm and 630 pm Friday

Pick Up:  Laurel Creek Group Campsite at 12 noon.
