Apple Day 2023

Fri. October 13  (shifts between 4:15 & 8:30 ) &

Sat. October 14 (shifts between 8:45 & 2:00)

Apple Day is an annual opportunity for our Scouting youth to show their appreciation to the general public for their support.  In return for public support, our youth distribute APPLES as a way of saying “Thank You” to the community.  Donations are accepted in return for apples.

We need participation from all of our youth supported with a parent for the success of this event.  Half the profit will be credited to the SAST account of participating families and the other half supports our own Group.  Parents drive their youth to the church to pick up apples, then drive to a designated location and supervise the youth for the shift.  A snack will be ready at the church upon return.

We hope each youth can cover a minimum of two shifts.  More details are after the sign up link below.  The shifts are listed on the Sign Up form at the link below.  If you cannot make this event, there is a spot to say so in the form.

As members of Scouts Canada, we make the promise to all retail owners who allow us to be on their property for Apple Day that:

  • Our youth will be in full uniform
  • Our youth will be on their best behavior
  • Our youth will be supervised at all times by their parent(s) or other responsible adult volunteers
  • Scouts Canada provides full liability insurance coverage for our participating members.

The Apple Day campaign is a nation-wide, major fundraiser for Scouts Canada and specifically, for the 24th Kitchener Scouting family. This event provides much needed funds that support our Group in facilitating programs through equipment purchases, subsidies, and Scouter training.
