Baden -Powell About Uniforms…

In the words of Baden-Powell at the 1937 World Jamboree, it “hides all differences of social standing in a country and makes for equality; but, more important still, it covers differences of country and race and creed, and makes all feel that they are members with one another of the one great brotherhood”

He also said, “The correct wearing of the Uniform and smartness in turnout of the individual Scout makes him a credit to the Scouting movement.  It shows pride in himself and in his Troop.  One sloppy Scout, inaccurately dressed, may let down the whole Scouting movement in the eyes of the public.  Show me such a fellow and I can show you one who has not grasped the true Scouting Spirit and who takes no pride in his membership in our great Scouting Brotherhood.”
