Hello everyone.

Welcome to Scout/Guide Week 2018 – A time to celebrate the insight of our founder – Lord Baden Powell.
We at the 24th Scouting Family are very excited to be hosting our Annual Scout Sunday Service on Sunday, Feb 25. It will be a time to celebrate Scouting and all that we have to be thankful for. We encourage every youth and leader and families to join in this service. 

Our theme is “What is in YOUR cup?”. This is about putting your whole self in so you can get your your best out.

There will be great activities for the kids:

• Rock Climbing Wall with safety plus!  (auto belay hydraulic system that secures climbers and trained operators who work with climbers in doing the best that they can do.) There are 3 climbing stations which present easy, medium and difficult terrains.  Scouting Youth can count this activity towards their Vertical Skills 2 badge.
• Big Bouncy with large interior jumping area and more.  Screens allow spectators to watch the fun.
• Smaller Bouncy for  little ones.
• Lawn games and bubbles for all ages.
• Plus a  BBQ and Advancement Ceremonies (where sections send off youth moving up to next sections)
• best of all! – great food!

Place:  St. James’-Rosemount United Church on the Labyrinth

Who:   24th Kitchener Scouting families – including siblings not in scouting

Cost:   $5 per person, $20 max per family

You might want to bring along a blanket and/lawn chairs to sit and eat on.

Annual Spring Food Drive

Help us Gain Weight!

Our goal this year is to collect more than 1 ton – in one night!

We’ve done it before, and we’re determined to do it again.

But we need your help.

Door to Door collection will be on

Monday, April 10th
between 6pm and 9pm.

All donations will be delivered directly to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region for distribution to our neighbours in need.

The map below shows the area we will cover shaded in blue.

If you live outside the area shown on the map, but would like to help us Gain Weight, we would be happy to accept your donations of nonperishable food bank items at St. James’-Rosemount United Church at the following times…

• Sunday, April 2nd – 10am – 12noon
• Sunday, April 9nd – 10am – 12noon
• Monday, April 10th between 6pm and 9pm.

Our theme is “1^st“. It is not about being “1^st“, but rather, it is about experiencing “1^st ‘s”

ACTION REQUIRED 

by end of day Wednesday.
We need every youth, parent and leader to tell us what things you have experienced in Scouting for the first 1st time.
Think hard because we are trying to find over 100 different “1^st ‘s” that we have experienced in Scouting.
This will mean that every member has a chance contribute to our service. Don’t be afraid to submit several of your personal “1^st ‘s”.

The 24th Kitchener Scouting Family uses Email Distribution lists to communicate with the members of each section.  This is the “tool” that Scouters of Beaver, Cub and Scout leaders use to relay important information about programs and events to our youth’s families.
