Timber’s Trip to Arkansas

Timber had a great trip to Arkansas as you can see. Timbers reason for going was to attend the 2010 Wal-mart Shareholders meeting. On his trip, Timber visited many placess and met many new people from all over the world. Timber enjoyed Arkansas but says he would not live there because it is too hot for his furry little body. It was around 35C or higher every day with the humidity.

On Monday, Timber and I will be leaving to attend the 2010 Wal-mart Shareholders meeting in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Check back in a couple of weeks to hear and see Timber’s adventures!!

I would like to thank ALL the Cubs I have had the opportunity to meet over the many years I have been Akela. I would like to let you all know that I am stepping down as Akela to take some time off as a full time leader. But don’t frown, I still will be involved with the 24th as the NEW Registrar.

Scout Summer Camp Meeting

This Thursday, May 27th the Pack will be enjoying a night of putt putt at Max’s Golf Centre in Waterloo.

Time: 7:15pm DON”T BE LATE try to be there 5 minutes early

Cost: $5.50 per youth $7.00 per adult/leader

This is a full uniform event

Our Area does Food Bank’s DIG IN Event

Here is an update on the North Waterloo Area’s participation in the Food Bank’s Dig In Event for Abert Fuchigami who coordinated Scouting’s participation locally. Yes, it was another great service event

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick follow-up report. North Waterloo Scouting collected about 400lbs of food. Thanks to all who articipated in the food collection part: (24th Kitchener, 38th Kitchener, 45th Kitchener, University of Waterloo, Other individuals)

Leaders from the University of Waterloo Group transferred the food to the DIG IN Drop off point Saturday morning. (We went to the Valu-Mart at Frederick and Edna. Since it was a low-volume store, they were very appreciative of the contribution). The DIG IN event as a whole collected 70,000 lbs of donations on the Saturday, and another 70,000 lbs in the days leading up to the event. Congratulations to 45th Kitchener, who won the Gift Certificate draw

From all reports, the Food Bank is planning on repeating this event next year.
